Product Description:
The Canon Pixma iP3000 Photo Printer delivers speed, quality and convenience in a stylish package. How fast is it? It produces up to 22 ppm in black and up to 15 ppm in color and a beautiful 4" x 6" borderless print takes only 36 seconds. Plus, you have the convenience of direct photo printing: simply connect any PictBridge-compatible digital camera or DV camcorder, and print! This PC-free process eliminates the need to be tied to your computer saving you time. But the Pixma iP3000 Photo Printer isn't just fast. It also achieves impressive detail and clarity, as a result of Canon Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE). This technology features an upgraded 1,600-nozzle print head that ejects precise, consistent droplets as small as 2 picoliters, for amazing photo-realism. This high-efficiency printer also uses a specially formulated black ink for laser-like text on reports and letters, along with high-intensity color inks for brilliant photos and graphics. Your borderless photos, from 4 x 6 up to 8.5 x 11 in., will have the look and feel of traditional photographs. To help reduce printing costs, this efficient system has four individual ink tanks that let you replace only the color that runs out, rather than an entire cartridge containing unused ink. Plus, a unique low-ink sensor alerts you when ink levels are low, so you are prepared to just drop in a new tank when needed.

Excellent machine
2008-12-01Fabulous but discontinued, best for recharging cartidges where it is allowed like in my country

Best Printer i Ever Owned
2008-02-13By far the best printer i have ever owned. I have had Lexmark, Epson, other Canons, HP, and this beats them all hands down. I love the paper tray so i am not always having to reload. Easy on ink. Print quality is outstanding. And it lasts forever. I have never worn out a printer, just print heads and similar parts. But that seems to happen pretty quick after the warranty ends. I don't think i ever had another printer (except the old reliable pre-inkjet type) for that a year. I can't remember when i got this one i have had it so long. I think it is at least 3 years old and maybe a good bit older and still cranking. I think Canon thinks it was a pretty good machine because i returned a different printer that had issues and they replaced it with this one. At first i was miffed because i had done a lot of research and thought the other was THE ONE. Then i used this one a bit and forgot all about the other one. AFter all this use it occasionally says it is out of paper when there are a few sheets left, but that is its only issue. Most trouble free high quality printer i evern had. When it dies i am calling Canon to get their recommendation unless they are still selling this one.

Dependable all-around printer- great for college students
2007-12-12I bought this printer when I entered college, 4 years ago, and it has preformed great for the whole time. This printer is really a jack-of-all trades, with fast crisp text and adequate quality picture prints. I mainly use this for printing out reports, and it does so with ease (those not familiar with modern ink-jets will be amazed at how quickly it can crank out text pages). I also take alot of digital photos, and use this to make medium-quality prints for my friends and family; the two tray paper system it uses makes it easy to keep a supply of plain paper and photo paper in the unit and select either with a button push. The built in pic-bridge port is great when I want low-quality proof prints right away!

Very good printer
2007-09-29Color photos come out with different color. They look like with more contrast. I wish the auto feeder could support at least 2 types of input such as photo papers and letter size papers. It prints very good jobs except for the photos.

Better Printers Out There
2007-08-07I bought this printer over two years ago for my office. It has been printing fine, but is a very slow printer. It takes a good two or three minutes just to warm up. Canon support was good to help when I had an issue with it last year when it was still under warranty. I would recommend finding a newer model, and still sticking with Canon since I've had better experiences with them than HP. HP seems to install a lot of unneeded software on your computer.

White Balance - If you ever ended up with yellow-tinted video, chances are you forgot to white balance. It's worthwhile to white balance every time you use your camera to get the highest quality video. If your camera doesn't have this feature, it may have an automatic or internal system. What white balancing does is adjust the intensity of the colors being recorded according to the existing light. Make sure you white balance every time the lighting conditions change; if you record video inside and then go outside, your lighting conditions have changed and you need to instruc ...
Printer Buying Guide
What kind of printer is best for me?
Choosing the right printer can be a daunting task. There are several different types of printing technology to choose from, each suited for different needs. Printers come in all shapes and sizes, from tiny travel companions to workgroup workhorses; some are geared toward photographers, others are for multitaskers. And the many specifications for resolution and speed can be misleading. As a rule of thumb, inkjet printers are a must for long-lasting photos, while laser printers are best to produce speedy text documents.
