GREAT PHOTO PRINTER FOR THE BUDGET! EXCELLENT CAPABILITIES TOO!
2008-10-26I bought this printer in 2004 and am still using it now. No problems so far. Mainly use it to print documents and pictures off my memory card or camera. The quality of the pictures are awesome considering that this is only tri-ink printer. It is fast enough for regular document printing applications and adequate enough for high quality photo printing. It can be used as a stand-alone printer to print photos from your memory card, just slide it in and you're good to go. It's memory card slot is for multiple memory cards. For creative pictures, you need to adjust settings in the printing configuration from your PC. The software is not hard to install, its plug & play. You do however, after installing the software, to auto-set it to download driver updates so you can get the best performance out of your printer. The updates modifies and solves certain problems (only small ones) that have been encountered in using this printer. Once you download all the updates, the performance of this printer is optimized. Its very hard not to like this printer although now its a little left behind by the newer ones. Overall its a nice printer to have. Highly recommended!

Good product - durable.
2008-07-19I've owned this printer for years now in an office environment and it's still going strong. It needs a cleaning now and again as the rollers stop feeding paper but it's quite easy to accomplish.

AWESOME printer!
2008-02-12This printer IS wonderful. I love it.
We bought this about 2 years ago, refurbished from [..]. For the price, we didn't expect it to really last very long, but surprise - it's still working great! We have not had to replace inks yet. I use this to print out photos for scrapbooking and albums, and have used it for a few photo shoots. The picture quality is beautiful.
For people who do not like how their pictures turn out - try editing them first in a program such as Photoshop or GIMP. Do not resize the pictures if you are planning on printing them.
The only problem I have had is that it doesn't work when hooked up to a computer anymore. However, that was from a power outage (twice in an hour), not from anything wrong with the printer itself. I just print from a memory card now after editing photos.
The ink does take a few minutes to dry. Try low-gloss or semi-gloss photo paper instead of high gloss. The ink is very sticky if you try to touch the photos right away, even on the corner, so allow it to dry completely.
I have not had any problems with this trusty printer and would happily buy another.

Perfect Printer!
2007-02-16This printer has TOP quality printing. I'm an artist and very very picky about what I use and this is my tool for getting the most of photography straight from my digital camera and corel painter art. I've had this printer for years now and it doesn't let me down at all. AA++ product!

Constant cartridge failure makes this a terrible purchase.
2006-12-14My old HP Deskjet worked flawlessly for years, but when it wore out I had to decide on a new printer I waited for this one to arrive in the stores. What a waste of time and money! The printer cartridges continually fail and the quality of photographs and color printing is unpredictable at best. I have spent a small fortune on cartridges, all HP brand, no cheap or refilled cartridges, but I feel like a gambler in desparate need of rehab. I will move to another brand once I figure out what direction to go in, this has ended my trust in HP products for the forseeable future.

Digital camera batteries
Batteries are vital for all photography and makiing sure that you have a spare set is essential if you intend to take alot of pictures. Print digital also recommend that when deciding upon a digital camera keep in mind what sort of batteries it takes. Does it take rechargeable batteries, are the batteries built and do you have to plug it into the mains, or does the camera only take standard batteries, if so then it can become exspensive if you are a keen photographer and use the camera alot.
There are three types of rechargeable batteries: NiCD, NiMH and Lithium-Ion. Nickel Metal Hydride are the most popular rechargeable batteries at present. They hold more charge than their counter parts NiCD and don't suffer from memory effect. The one small down fall of these batteries is that they will loose a small amount of charge even if they are not being used, so be sure to check the batteries before using them.
When you purchase a new digital camera make sure to ask what type of battery ...
The types of camcorders

the types of camcorders and how they can benefit your specific needs. The
formats of video cameras include, VHS, VHS-C,
8mm, Hi8, Mini Digital Video (Mini DV), DVD and Digital 8. Each format has
its pros and cons
VHS
The VHS format is the oldest type of camcorder. This type of video camcorder
is fast becoming outdated, because you can only play back
the video on a VHS VCR system. VHS
camcorders are not nearly as clear as digital
video camcorders that offer clear video with 540 lines of resolution,
VHS video cameras only offer 240 lines of resolution. They also weigh more
and are much more bulky, that dv camcorders. You can only find these video
camera used because their technology is now outdated.
VHS-C
The VHS-C format offer 240 lines of resolution, just like VHS. These analog
camcorders come in a smaller size that the VHS camcorder models, but use
the same technology. The video tapes u ...
