Big Disappointment2005-01-18
This scanner only lasted four montns before failing to perform. It only had a 90-day warranty so it pooped out just about one month after the end of the warranty. Their manual says you can't just throw them away because they contain mercury and lead so I took it back to Office Max, where I bought it, and told them to recycle it along with their other recyclable stuff. Won't every buy another HP product. Piece of junk!!!!
Waste Of Time2004-08-15
I bought this scanner as a replacement for my older Mustek 1200UB. I made a mistake and promply returned it for a refund. The quality was very nice, however, the scanner produced little horizontal lines all the way down the right side. This was unacceptable as I had bought the scanner to do a project where I'd be scanning lots and lots of old family photos for storage. I'm not trying to be too negative about this scanner, but the software was difficult to use as well. I'd set certain defaults and it would revert back to the originals even after I told it to default to my saved settings. I hated having to click on File, Import, Scanner every time I wanted to scan something in Photoshop. I wanted the scanning software to remain open and allow me to scan batches at a time. No, I had to re-open the software for every single scan, which meant having to wait for the splash screen to go away and then wait on the lamp to warm up. Needless to say, I'm back using my old Mustek. :(
Good Scanner - Only Buy with An Extended Warranty2004-04-21
This is my 2nd HP scanner. The first lasted 6 years, this one 6 months. The scanner seemed a little slow but did a good job of scanning. I don't use one everyday so I don't need a high end scanner. At light usage I did expect the scanner to last longer than 6 months. Since this is a relatively inexpensive scanner, repairing it is not cost effective. My next scanner will be from Canon which I have found out has a 1-year warranty rather than only 90 days.
Love the machine2003-10-03
I love this scanner. It is a high quality machine. The quick access buttons on the front are very conveint. My only problem with this is that it didn't give enough instructions on how to use the picture negatives part.

This type of video camcorder is fast becoming outdated, because you can only play back the video on a VHS VCR system. VHS camcorders are not nearly as clear as digital video camcorders that offer clear video with 540 lines of resolution, VHS video cameras only offer 240 lines of resolution. They also weigh more and are much more bulky, that dv camcorders. You can only find these video camera used because their technology is now outdated. VHS-C The VHS-C format offer 240 lines of resolution, just like VHS. These analog camcorders come in a smaller size that the VHS camcorder models, but use the same technology. The video tapes u ...
Core 2 Duo Scaling
Laptop Scaling Intel's Core 2 Duo is easily the best mobile processor on the market today, boasting sky-high performance and low power consumption. But which CPU is for you: the super expensive T7600, the bargain-priced T5500, or something in between? This article will first take a look at the various versions of Core 2 Duo that Intel has to offer. We will compare Core 2 Duo clocked at four speed grades: 2.33GHz, 2.16GHz, 2GHz, and 1.83GHz in a variety of benchmarks and let you know how to get your best bang for the buck. Note: We will refer to a Core 2 Duo “T7000multiple times in this article. We were unable to get a Merom sample with 2MB L2 cache, thus we lowered the clock speed of our 4MB L2 model to 1.83GHz to perform near that of the T5600 (1.83GHz, 2MB L2 cache), resulting in our unofficial “T7000nomenclature. The Core 2 Duo Processor Intel has two lines of Core 2 Duo processors: notebook and desktop. Core 2 Duo for notebooks is codenamed Merom, while Core ...
