Product Description:

Sony's DPP-EX5 is a digital photo printer that uses dye sublimation technology, a process that creates durable lab-quality prints in vivid color, monochrome, sepia or paint tone. It is packed with built-in editing and creative tools, making it easy to adjust image sharpness, contrast, brightness and size. These tools also enable users to select and merge images as well as incorporate personalized messages into any print. In addition to being PC and Mac compatible via a USB connection and Sony's supplied software drivers, the DPP-EX5 can also connect to a television for larger viewing and editing of photos in the den or living room, just like the slide shows of the past. Each print from DPP-EX5 is laminated with Super Coat 2 laminate to seal and protect every photo, giving durability to withstand fading, spills, moisture and fingerprints. It also supports the Exif print standard, which significantly improves the printing process through color consistency and final output quality, and comes bundled with a self-cleaning cartridge to help maintain and clean each printer at home. In addition, DPP-EX5 can print on the new 3.5" x 5" borderless print paper as well as the current 4" x 6" and 3.5" x 4" print sizes, offering consumers greater flexibility in their printing options.

Excellent printing directly from iPhoto2007-12-29
if you are a mac user, this is a great deal for a darn good dye sub printer! install the OSX driver and off you go into iPhoto-land printing all your pictures using all sorts of themes from within iPhoto. my fave tho' is the tried and true simple white edged border. it also does edge to edge no problem. this is NOT a substitute for kodak services if that's your bag, but for at-home creativeness and family album fun this can not be beat. i like to use it with "Comic Life" to add captions and make postcards. it is too much fun, low hassle, and creates great looking prints. so when you are ready to toss the ink jet out the window in frustration, for postcard size prints, check out this little unit.
A+ Printing Quality2007-03-10
Its printing quality is as good as those kiosk from the department store. I bought it pre-owned and in a great condition, with no manual (I still do not know how to use all the way) I didn't know prior to acquiring this product that it only takes sony printing sheets and that they are so difficult to find and expensive to buy. Its printing quality deserves an A+
Perfect2004-11-27
I've been an avid amateur photographer for over 20 years, and I can tell you the prints from this printer are top notch and lab quality.

The color rendition is extemely accurate so long as you properly load the Sony printer driver. Those of you who get unexpected results may because of the quality or calibration of your computer monitor. I have not noticed, as some have, that any color is particularly bright or vivid. The price per print is a little hefty, around $0.65 per print if your buy the larger 75 print kit, but of course you only print the ones you really like. Be advised that Sony does not include in the box any starter print cartridge or paper in the box, so you must buy these separatly.
Love this printer!!!2004-08-20
The print quality is awesome, I am using a Sony Cybershot 5 megapixel camera. I took it out of the box and loaded the paper, cartridge and memory stick and started printing right away! It has so many features. You can edit your pics right on your television then print. It has many editing features as well! My only concern is that it does't come with a USB cable, but that can always be purchased at a later time. Overall, this is an excellent photo printer.

Digital camera batteries
Batteries are vital for all photography and makiing sure that you have a spare set is essential if you intend to take alot of pictures. Print digital also recommend that when deciding upon a digital camera keep in mind what sort of batteries it takes. Does it take rechargeable batteries, are the batteries built and do you have to plug it into the mains, or does the camera only take standard batteries, if so then it can become exspensive if you are a keen photographer and use the camera alot. There are three types of rechargeable batteries: NiCD, NiMH and Lithium-Ion. Nickel Metal Hydride are the most popular rechargeable batteries at present. They hold more charge than their counter parts NiCD and don't suffer from memory effect. The one small down fall of these batteries is that they will loose a small amount of charge even if they are not being used, so be sure to check the batteries before using them. When you purchase a new digital camera make sure to ask what type of battery ...
